Distitec presents and produces a new custom product line.
The multi-stage axial roller bearings, also known as "Tandem Bearing", which are mainly used in extruders for the processing of plastics.
Multi-stage thrust bearings offer a great solution in those applications where they are required:
• High axial loads
• Reduced radial dimensions
• Long service life and low friction
This type of bearing is mainly used in the single and double screw extruder housings for the rubber moulding industry and thermoplastic polymers (Image A).
Further possible applications are:
• Deep drilling machines
• Friction welding
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
The multi-stage bearings are composed by a series of matched axial roller bearings, as shown in the exploded above.
Bearing rings and washers are properly calibrated, to ensure that the stages work correctly under the operating load.
Rings and washers are made of steel for full-hardened bearings.
Cages made of "Cu" alloy are machined worked and fitted with cylindrical rollers with profile "ZB" (*)
(*) For heavy loads applications, Distitec has designed and developed the special version called "HL" (after quantity and dimensional lot checking).

Distitec multi-stage thrust bearings can be manufactured according to the customer’s requirements, with reference to the dimensions of the shaft (d) and its seat (D).
The axial footprint (L) is customized according to customer request, from a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 8 stages.
