They are similar to fixed combined bearings in functioning, with some additional features.
thanks to different adjusting mechanisms, chosen on the basis of the mounting characteristics and load capacity, they act on the distance between the stop of the pin and the limit of the axial contrast, increasing or decreasing, depending on the requested application, the distance (clearance) between the bearing and the guide, determining an optimal operation.
ADJUSTABLE COMBINED BEARINGS WITH SUPPORT OR SLIDER
The support, typical of this combined bearing, together with the roller complete with rollers, washers and pin, form the axial contrast group. The support is obtained by turning and milling a moulded piece in 20CrMo material which has a closing and centring washer for the pin in one piece; the adjustment is obtained thanks to circular crown spacers of various thickness, to be interposed between the support and the radial pin up to the value indicated in the drawing. In cases of low axial loads and for cheaper solutions, the contrast group can be replaced by a single piece (slider) in plastic material that traces its dimensions.
ADJUSTABLE COMBINED BEARINGS WITH SUPPORT FOR HEAVY INDUSTRY
They have the same adjustment method as adjustable bearings with support, but the dimensions and load capacity are adequate for devices used for the particularly severe load conditions characteristic of heavy industry (mast for forklifts up to 50 tons and in steel industry).
ADJUSTABLE COMBINED BEARINGS WITH SCREW OR PAD
They are characterized by a radial part deriving from the above mentioned combinations, from which they differ in the internal shape of the main pin. This pin must receive a circular support complete with axial contrast roller which is centred in its front part, guided by protruding pins from its seat in the pin. Registration is obtained through a screw centred on the pin that acts directly on the back of the support, pushing it outwards, resulting in a registration capacity that can range from 0 to 2-4.5 max, according to the model.
They also exist in the version with the same adjustment system by means of a rear screw, where the contrast group consists of a simple pad in plastic material, which always represents a valid solution for lower axial loads, with good resistance to wear and tear deteriorating chemical agents.
ADJUSTABLE COMBINED BEARINGS WITH ECCENTRIC PIN FOR MEDIUM AND LARGE CAPACITIES
In this version, the axial contrast unit is equipped with a pin which has two eccentric tangs, with locking system at both ends (ribbed or hexagon) which can rotate and be locked by means of a locking washer in the appropriate seats on the principle pin. In this way there is a translation of the axial contrast unit, thus obtaining a variation of the length sufficient to eliminate any anomalous play between the uprights during assembly.
They are divided into two series, one for medium flow rates and one for large flow rates (the latter also known as “Jumbo”), equipped with holes for lubrication.
